</xml><![endif]-->Hi, bikedick here and we have had a GREAT Spring and Summer riding season in Boulder, and while I haven’t posted anything, I did accomplish my two goals for the Spring/Summer seasons. I was able to complete the White Rim ride in a day, 102 miles of pure scenic joy, and I was also awarded a finishers jersey for completing the Death Ride (The Tour of The California Alps), 129 miles and 15,000 of climbing.

Now fall is here and it’s a great time to ride, and one of my favorites. You can also ride during these cool and crisp days in comfort, if you’re equipped with the right gear. To help with those gear selections I’ve written a cool riding guide that’s posted on our website at: http://www.bikejane.com/Cool_Weather_Ride_Guide.html

These recommendations are based on what works for me, but I’d love to hear your comments on what works for you and maybe more importantly what doesn’t work for you.

Spring is here, Get out and Ride

Hi. I'm bikedick and as a counterpoint to bikejane I'm also looking forward to the Spring and Summer season but while I wouldn't consider myself an animal I have ridden all winter. Not everyday, but I have put on a considerable, for me at least, amount of miles. I wanted to see what conditions in Boulder I could ride comfortably in. I found that mid-30's can be pleasant if you're equipped with the right apparel, and that doesn't mean bundled up in a down coat and snow pants. Now that the weather has broke, well at least we can start to ride up further in the hills for some great climbs, and get some serious training in. It maybe a sure sign of spring, but on my last ride I saw a new born calf being tended to by her mom, still all slimy and not able to walk yet, pretty cool.

Welcome to bikejane's blog

Getting excited about the upcoming bike season. I'm not one of those animals who rides all winter, so it seems like it's been a long time coming. I was able to get out for a road ride around town not too long ago and that was great, only 22 mi but I felt it. Got out for a mountain bike ride yesterday in all that beautiful sunshine, it was a blast, lots of mud which, of course, is loads of fun on fat tires! Have fun, Happy Biking!
